Shannon is an Adventure Education Leadership, with an emphasis in Outdoor Ministry and Discipleship major Undergraduate Asbury student.
“Deciding to go to college in my hometown was a tough choice, but one I do not regret at all! Asbury has provided me with an incredible community, and I’ve loved connecting with both peers and staff! Asbury also has so many valuable campus ministries to get involved with, aiding in fellowship and connecting with God. Another thing I appreciate about Asbury is all its opportunities for athletics! Even if you are not on a varsity sports team, Asbury offers involvement in club sports and intramurals.”
“Pursuing my major in Adventure Leadership has been a joy; I am able to be engaged in every aspect of the program, from classes to student trips. Learning technical outdoor skills and leadership while appreciating nature and the beauty of God’s handiwork has been very rewarding and beneficial for my future. Additionally, combining outdoor classes with ministry courses helps me express my faith and deepen my understanding of God’s calling. I feel much better equipped to facilitate learning in the outdoors and serve in ministry.”
Shannon hopes to work in ministry in some capacity and using the outdoors to help people connect with our Creator. She is passionate about international missions and if God calls her overseas she would love to serve in that way.
