Sarah Bellew is a native of Upstate New York and began putting roots down in Kentucky in 1995. After completing her bachelor’s degree in social work and psychology at Roberts Wesleyan College, Sarah received her master of social work degree from the University of Kentucky. Sarah became a Certified Social Worker in 1996 with an appreciation for the person-centered, strengths-based and multi-systemic approaches to interventions for change with individuals, families and communities. Sarah has experience in cancer care; in-home and community based intensive mental health treatment and service coordination with children, youth and families; international adoption; residential youth care; and career development. Sarah began adjunct teaching at Asbury in 2013 and was Asbury’s Office of Career & Calling assistant director from 2014 – 2016. Assisting students in connecting social work theory to the practice of skills in the professional setting is of special interest to Sarah. Sarah’s passion for social work is grounded in the opportunity to be a part of the Kingdom of God brought to Earth.
