Brad is a native of North Carolina, but he has lived in Georgia and most recently in Pennsylvania as well. After receiving his B.A. in History from Coastal Carolina University, he began his career in the communications industry serving on various management teams. In 2008, he felt the Lord calling him into the Christian non-profit world. He began working with The Salvation Army in development, first in south Georgia and eventually serving as the Divisional Resource Development Director for the Maryland and West Virginia division.
As Director of Development, Brad is charged with the strategic oversight of Asbury’s major giving program. He works to build strategies to support priority funding needs of the University and to diversify philanthropic revenue streams. He finds a lot of joy in getting to know the many outstanding alumni who make up the Asbury network.
Brad is very excited to be a part of the Asbury family and Wilmore community. His wife, Carrie Beth Adams ’97 Atkinson is an alum, and his oldest son David is a part of the Courageous Class of 2024. Brad and Carrie Beth also have a son and twin daughters. He considers it a privilege to work for a Christ-centered university.
