Kevin answered God’s call to transfer to Asbury University in 1988. In 1989, Kevin took time off from school to enlist in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Religious Program Specialist. He took another semester off in 1991 to serve with the U.S. Marines in support of Operation Desert Storm, and he finally graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Christian Ministries. He then crossed the street to attend Asbury Theological Seminary (ATS), where he met his future wife, Janet, and earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1996.
Kevin’s career spans the military, corporate world, private sector and higher education – including three years as Executive Assistant to the Senior V.P. at ATS and nine years in healthcare research administration at the University of Kentucky.
Shortly after receiving a commission as a U.S. Navy Chaplain in 2003, Kevin was honored to deploy to Al Anbar, Iraq in 2005, and then to participate in subsequent mobilizations supporting other Navy and Marine Corps operations. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 2012 when combat- and service-connected injuries made further service untenable.
In 2015, Kevin accepted a position at his beloved alma mater, Asbury University, supporting the Offices of Spiritual Life and Campus Life. In 2022, he was blessed with the opportunity to assume his current role as Administrative Assistant to Asbury’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Strategic Partnerships, where he also helps manage estate and planned giving records.
Kevin is a former Scoutmaster, an enthusiastic cook, and an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. And he is presently working to complete a Doctor of Ministry degree through Asbury Theological Seminary. He lives in Wilmore with his wife of 28 years, Janet. They have two sons, one dog, one cat, and three feisty chickens.
