The Online Bachelor of Science in Social Work is a 124-credit-hour program. Offered in a flexible online format with in-person Field Education Practicum, you can pursue your coursework at your own pace.
Requirements for the 124-credit online bachelor’s program include:
Up to 75 credit hours may be transferred hours.
Field Education Practicum
Social Work students are required to complete Field Education Practicum components for the program in social service agencies programs. For this reason, online Social Work students need to be able to adjust their schedules, and be able to travel to their placement in order to complete their clinical requirements. Practicum I (5 credit hours) and Practicum II (8 credit hours) are typically completed during the 3rd and final semesters of the program and require a minimum of 200 agency hours (13.3 hrs/week) and 320 agency hours (21.3 hrs/week) respectively, along with a weekly class seminar. Practicum placements are 16 weeks each.

Accreditation of a baccalaureate or master’s social work program by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of program quality evaluated through a peer review process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the Commission on Accreditation has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards.
Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods of an accredited program. Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.
