A Federal Pell Grant is an award to help undergraduate students pay for their education after high school. For many students, Pell Grants provide a foundation of financial aid to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back. Eligibility for the Pell Grant is determined by completion of the FAFSA. For the 2023-24 academic year, the Pell Grant ranges from $767 – $7395.
The FSEOG is for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need who are also Pell Grant recipients. Although federal guidelines state that grants of up to $4000 per year may be awarded, most grants range from $500 to $1000 per year because of limited funds at Asbury University.
The Federal Teach Grant provides funds to students who are completing or who plan to complete coursework that is required to begin a career in teaching, and who agree to teach full-time for at least four years:
The four years of teaching must be completed within eight years after you complete or otherwise cease to be enrolled in the program for which you received a TEACH Grant. This teaching requirement is known as your TEACH Grant service obligation.
To be considered for this grant, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen, be enrolled in coursework that is necessary to begin a career in teaching or plan to complete such course work, meet certain academic achievement requirements, sign a TEACH Grant Agreement To Serve (ATS), and complete Teach Entrance Counseling.

*Kentucky Tuition Grant (KTG) is available to Kentucky residents who demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled full-time at an eligible private Kentucky college or university. For the 2023-24 academic year, eligible students receive up to $3300.
*College Access Program (CAP) Grant is available to Kentucky residents who are enrolled at least half-time at a Kentucky college or university and whose Expected Family Contribution (EFC), as determined by the FAFSA, is $6656 or less. For the 2023-24 academic year, eligible students receive up to $5300.
*Please note that these funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to file your FAFSA as soon after October 1 as possible for optimum consideration.
Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) is money earned by Kentucky students who attended and graduated from a certified Kentucky high school. The amount earned is based on grade point average and ACT score. Students must achieve a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of the freshman year and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of subsequent years to retain their full award.
