Along with millions in the U.S. and around the world, Asbury University celebrates the life and ministry of Rev. Billy Graham, who passed away on Feb. 21. A beloved evangelist, Graham preached to more than 200 million people during his lifetime.

Known as a pastor to presidents — having counseled U.S. Presidents from Lyndon Johnson to George W. Bush — Graham modeled a commitment to the gospel, a life of integrity and a consistent willingness to engage thoughtfully and charitably in public life.

“Arguably the most influential spiritual voice and leader of the 20th century, he will be missed,” said Asbury University President Sandra C. Gray, who spent time with Graham and other members of the board of trustees for “Christianity Today” in 2013. “He was a spiritual giant, faithfully and consistently proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. While humanly we are saddened at the news, we celebrate with family and friends all over the world and rejoice that his faith has now become sight.”
