YBL Mentors

Once your student is accepted, you’ll receive both a digital and physical mentor workbook with details about their YBL experience. We will also provide guidance on how to support your mentee during the program.

Before YBL, please schedule a meeting with your mentee to discuss their Ministry project. Use this time to encourage and guide them in developing a project that will serve their local church or community. If you believe someone from your church can offer valuable input, feel free to invite them. The goal is not for you to do the work, but to support your mentee in thinking carefully and planning effectively for their project.

We ask that you make yourself available via phone or text June 14 -17  for conversations with your student to discuss their ministry project and on June 18 for a Zoom meeting with all the mentors and mentees. We will email you this Zoom link in May.

After YBL, your role involves two key areas: vocational/spiritual conversations and supporting the ministry project.

• Devotionals: Over 12 weeks, we will supply you and your student with weekly devotionals to study and discuss. These will serve as a foundation for ongoing conversations about leadership, vocation, and discipleship.
• Ministry Project Support: Your student will develop and lead a project in your community. This process begins before the residential program and continues afterward. Your involvement will provide encouragement, guidance, and support during teachable moments when they need advice, motivation, or simply someone to believe in them.

• Send: Encourage your high school students to apply to Youth Becoming Leaders.
• Sponsor: Help cover the $4,000 cost per student by sponsoring a youth or donating any amount.
