Reunion 2018 is a Family Affair Thanks to the Reunion Youth Program

What’s better than catching up with all of your classmates and friends at Asbury University’s annual summer Reunion? A youth program that’ll take the kids off your hands and show them a good time on your old stomping grounds while you participate in Reunion Weekend activities.

Asbury’s Reunion Youth Program will give your kids a full summer camp experience in a weekend’s time. Split into five age categories, kids will participate in a variety of activities and older kids will get a peek at college life on campus. All groups will get to enjoy worship times and devotions throughout the weekend.

The Youth Program has been growing in attendance steadily each year with an average of about 140 kids attending in recent years, and it’s so loved that some kids beg their parents to come back each summer according to Youth Program Coordinator Kim Spillman.

“People really seem to love the program,” said Spillman. “We have some that come back year after year. I’ve heard of parents that didn’t plan on coming because it wasn’t a reunion year and their kids were like, ‘I want to go back to Asbury!’ so they come back to reunion just so their kids can come and do the kid’s program.”

Advance registration is required by June 9. You can register your child for the entire weekend of fun for $60 per child or, for families of three or more, for $145. Not staying for the whole weekend? You can also opt to register your child for individual sessions Friday, Saturday and Sunday (the Sunday session is available for preschool-elementary only).

Preschool (ages birth to preschool) will play in the bouncy house and partake in fun games, indoor and outdoor activities, movies and more.

Eagles (rising grades k-2) will have full days of swimming in the Luce pool, inflatable games, movies and snacks.

Kid’s College (rising grades 3-5) can prepare for entertaining times of wall climbing, swimming, eating ice cream and enjoying outdoor games.

Trendsetters (rising grades 6-8) will have an action-packed weekend of horseback riding, exploring the rope challenge course, zip lining and swimming.

College Connection (rising grades 9-12) will go on a campus tour and a Dix River canoe trip led by Asbury Adventure Leadership students who are certified Wilderness First Responders.

“You can enjoy your time here with your fellow classmates and have a secure place for your child so that you don’t have to worry about them during the day,” said Spillman. “They’re not underneath your feet so it’s kind of like a vacation for you and for them. We offer tons of different activities for them to do throughout the day. They never get bored and we send them home tired. Be assured that your kids are in a loving, safe environment.”
