Media Museum

Students are inspired by the sets and props from classic films dating from 1915 to the present. These displays allow students to explore how props, sets and effects were used to create some of the best films and television productions ever made. This museum collection is primarily made up of three collections: the Kentucky collection, the alumni collection and the John DeCuir Collection. A few additional props have been added to these collections, including the full-size Gutenberg Press from the 1939 film The Hunchback of Notre Dame and a 14’ jet (hanging from the lobby ceiling) from Kevin Costner’s Thirteen Days. The collection also includes set pieces (walls) from Gone With the Wind, Batman (TV), The Chronicles of Narnia, Star Trek, Seaquest, original storefronts used by Orson Wells in Citizen Kane, and much more.

The Alumni Collection

The Asbury alumni collection includes memorabilia from television and film productions that Asbury alumni have worked on, including Captain America, Unbroken, Lincoln, Everybody Loves Raymond, Bedtime Stories, Bonanza, CNN, Friends, ER, Mythbusters, Argo, Chronicles of Narnia, The Pacific, The Dark Knight Rises, Mom’s Night Out, Star Trek, Night at the Museum, Superbowl, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Veggie Tales, The Book of Eli, Avatar, Clear and Present Danger, Property Brothers, Beethoven, Ironman 2, X-Men and more.
