Asbury University Professor Named Top Lexington Psychologist

November 12, 2019

Asbury University’s psychology students take classes with some of the best in the field. So it comes as no surprise that Dr. Martin Seitz ’78 was recently named a top psychologist in Lexington, Ky. Seitz was listed as one of the top three psychologists in Lexington by the website www.threebestrated.com.

Three Best Rated was created to help consumers find the top three local businesses, professionals, restaurants, health care providers and more in their cities.

“It was a complete surprise to me,” Seitz said. “It is humbling but gratifying. I see my counseling as supporting my teaching since many of our psychology majors intend on becoming counseling-related professionals. I teach what I practice and practice what I teach.”

Seitz has been a professor of psychology at Asbury since 1989. He also works as a general counseling practitioner at Access Wellness Group in Lexington, where he helps clients work through marital problems, work-related problems, interpersonal problems, spiritual problems, anxiety, mood/depressive disorders and other mental health issues. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Seitz is an alumnus of Asbury and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1978. He received his M.Ed. from Georgia State University (GSU) in 1981 and his Ph.D.in counseling psychology at GSU in 1989.

Please join us in congratulating Seitz on his most recent accomplishment.
