As Asbury’s Dayton School of Business resumes instruction with online classes, we commit to our DSB community to face these new challenges with innovation, communication, and diligence. We recognize that we are all adjusting to the disruption that COVID-19 causes throughout many aspects of our lives.
In the midst of a crisis, the ingenuity and innovative spirit of businesspeople kicks into high gear. For example, Bloom Energy – a silicon valley energy company converted their business to refurbish much-needed ventilators. Mercedes Formula 1 engineering team created a new CPAP breathing device over a weekend and is now deploying it in the U.K. Seikowave, a 3D dental imaging company in Kentucky is using their scanning technology to custom-fit 3D printed masks for health workers.
In my quiet time this morning, Psalm 34:4 gave me comfort: “I prayed to the Lord; and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.” Let’s hold on to this verse and remember it when anxiety and worry begin to creep into our minds.
Through the changes over the last few weeks, we are encouraged as we watch students, staff, and faculty unite in remarkable and creative ways. While this semester will look like no other, we pray that is will be marked by a deep sense of community, support, and faithfulness.
Faculty and staff are praying for you and look forward to new opportunities to connect with you. Lean on us and trust in the Lord as we move forward together with this spring. Though we are remote for a time, we are not alone!”
