Biographical Information

I was born in Pakistan and raised as a Muslim.  I came to the States when I was 6 years old. A Christian woman named, Sue, shared the gospel with my mom and me and we became Christians. As a teenager, I met a pastor and his wife who were Asburians. They brought me to the campus and I knew this was where I was supposed to go to school. I graduated from Asbury with a BA in Spanish Education and a Minor in English.

After leaving Asbury, I studied for my Masters of Spanish at the University of KY and taught as a TA. After finishing my Masters, I married my husband, John, and began teaching Spanish at Lexington Christian Academy. I was the Department Chair of Foreign Languages and taught Spanish and English. I led several mission trips to Mexico with my students with WGM.

For just one year, I was able to teach Spanish at Asbury before starting a family.  Then for 20 years, I had the privilege of staying home with my 6 children and homeschooling them. I continued to tutor and teach Spanish to homeschoolers, while still homeschooling my children. I am still homeschooling my daughter for 1 more year before she starts High School.

I am involved in our church worship team and teaching FPU with John. I am also involved in SBDM Council at WCHS. I am a proud mom of 5 sons and 1 daughter. Josh is an alum ’21. Jonah is active duty SSGT airborne. Josiah is an electrician. Jeremiah is active duty military black hawk division. Joseph is a sophomore at WCHS and a lacrosse player. Joy is an 8th-grade basketball and volleyball player. God has allowed me to do my dream jobs, teaching, stay-at-home mom and home-school mom. Now I get to do one more dream job, by returning to Asbury, and teaching Spanish.
