Stephanie is originally from Orlando, Florida. She moved north in 1989 to attend Hiwassee College, where she met her husband, Randy. She received a Bachelor’s degree in English from Tennessee Wesleyan University in 1994. Steph served in both faculty and staff positions for Cross Creek Christian School, a university-style K-12 private school in Tennessee, for fifteen years. She and Randy raised four wonderful sons, and have a delightful daughter still at home.
As a staff assistant in the Advancement Office, Steph communicates with donors over the phone, through email, and by gift receipts and letters. She especially enjoys hearing how Asbury has impacted alumni and friends of the university. “Each story is unique,” she said, “and I love to learn about their connections – to God, to faculty and fellow students, and to the campus.”
The Nelson family have a farm in Harrodsburg, where three ponies, two horses, two barn cats and a dog keep them very busy.
