Dr. Bewaji enjoys seeing the moment when students grasp a particular topic and can apply it. She wants them to achieve their full potential and is happy to be a part of the journey. Dr. Bewaji has vast experience in teaching in different environments in the United States and Jamaica both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has also consulted for small entrepreneurial businesses based in Jamaica.
Her research interest is predominantly in the area of Entrepreneurship, as she investigates the factors that affect the performance and success of entrepreneurships, be it cultural, demographic or economic factors. She is currently looking at the effect of corruption and lack of institutions on entrepreneurships as well as how small independent restaurants in Jamaica are affected by COVID-19.
Dr. Bewaji has a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Management from the University of the West Indies, Mona, as well as an M.B.A. from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She completed her Ph.D. with Temple University in Philadelphia.
She enjoys youth ministry activities and spending time at camp as a counsellor. She also loves to bake.
