The department is a collegial one, with opportunities to teach a wide range of texts. Asbury University does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, or disability in its educational programs, activities, or employment practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach 24 credit hours in an academic year, ranging from general education literature courses to upper-division seminars in literature. Maintain an active research program. Professors also help to foster a strong department culture, spend significant time with students in office hours, serve on university committees, and provide leadership and active participation in spiritual life activities on campus.
ACADEMIC RANK: Academic rank at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level commensurate with experience.
DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH INFORMATION: The Department of English offers Bachelor of Arts Degrees in English and Creative Writing, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education. Candidates must be in harmony and compliance with Faith, Mission, and Community Lifestyle Standards.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have experience teaching writing and literature through a variety of methods.
