Asbury University is looking for a qualified candidate to fill their open full-time Service Desk Coordinator position.

Job Purpose:

Maintain and advance support services for students, employees, and campus visitors. An important part of the position is supporting the ministry and mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christian faith in our students.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the maintenance of campus technology systems, including software and hardware support.
  • Assist in coordination of overall support model for the Service Desk, including coordinating appointments, regular inventory checks, and maintaining general business processes & policies.
  • Assist in the administration of key institutional software systems including (but not limited too) ticketing, course evaluation, room scheduling, and ID Card production systems.
  • Supervise the Service Desk Student Workers, including (but not limited to) recruiting, hiring, training and scheduling.
  • Assist in the development and curation of training in software and best practices for the campus community.
  • Develop and Maintain the I.T. Services Knowledgebase and Support Documentation, as well as website.
  • Coordinate the internal employee action, and student lifecycle process for I.T. Services.
  • Assist with technology projects under the supervision of the Service Desk Manager.
  • Assist in the communication of disruptions to the I.T. resources of campus, and maintain department social media.
  • Identify problem trends with technology and present possible solutions to the Service Desk manager.
  • On-call work outside of normal hours may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, with lunch break from 12:00-1:00 PM.
  • Some night and weekend work required.

Travel:

  • Limited or no travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications:

  • College degree required. Specialized computer technology training preferred.
  • One-year experience in computer support. Experience supporting Microsoft and Apple operating systems, printers and networking. Customer service experience is a must. Two years of progressively responsible work experience.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam, drug screen and background check.
  • A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital with the ability to support the University’s theological position, lifestyle standards and mission.
