Job Summary:
The Director of Alumni Relations will engage alumni through invitational and strategic communication and events that enhance the relationship of the alumni body to the University. This includes developing and creating space for stronger ties emotionally, spiritually, financially and socially. The Director will create meaningful opportunities to connect alumni back to the University. The Director will serve as the public image of the University to the alumni community. The Director will navigate, with sensitivity and understanding, the many demands and expectations of this large, multigenerational constituency.

The Director of Alumni Relations oversees the work of the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and any part-time or volunteer staff.
Qualifications:
The Director of Alumni Relations should be a graduate of the University (College) and an experienced professional with a minimum of 5 years of postgraduate leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree is required.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts and initiatives in a clear and compelling manner. Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute event and engagement plans. Highly developed sense of propriety in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
The Director of Alumni Relations should be intimately familiar with and thoroughly committed to the mission, vision and heritage of Asbury University, possessing the ability to relate to and communicate with the various constituencies of the institution in an effective manner. The successful candidate must model the spiritual, personal and professional qualities described in the University’s Handbook for Community Life and should be active in the Church and committed to the fundamental doctrines of the Wesleyan and Holiness movements.
