The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized test that is routinely required for admission to medical schools across the United States. The test will cover biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics.
The MCAT is a computer-based test, offered twenty-eight times a year. You should take the exam the same year you apply for entrance to medical school. You can take the exam a maximum of three times a year.
The test consists of multiple-choice questions for the physical sciences, verbal reasoning, and the biological sciences. There is a writing section, in which two short essays will need to be written. The test will last half a day.
The MCAT’s website offers a variety of recourses to help study for the test including books you can purchase with practice exams and content outlines of the test.
