Asbury University Health Services complies with federal HIPAA regulations regarding the confidentiality of all patient information, both written and oral. No information will be released without the express permission of the student (see Privacy Policies for details of any exceptions).
If a student is under 18 years of age, Student Health Services must obtain permission from a parent or guardian at the time of each visit in order to treat the student. Once the student reaches the age of 18, Health Services can only release information to parents with the student’s permission, even if the parent is financially responsible for the student.
Students will have the opportunity during their first visit of each school year to give permission to discuss medical situations with their parent(s), spouse, or other individual. Such permission may be rescinded at any time and in regard to any visit.
