Mr. David D. Bundy

  • Associate Professor of Church History and Librarian at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Graduate of Seattle Pacific University (B.A.) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Th.M. and M.Div.) and candidate for Ph.D. at University of Uppsala
  • Served on various boards, including Indiana Religious History Association and Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative and is a member of 29 professional associations
  • Speaks five languages, has a passive knowledge of 25 additional languages, and writes extensively in the areas of American Religious History, Pentecostalism, Pietism, the Wesleyan/Holiness traditions, Middle Eastern Christian Studies, and Library Science
  • Co-editor of the scholarly monograph series, Pietiest and Wesleyan Studies

Dr. Donald W. Dayton

  • Professor of American Religious History at Drew University, Madison, New Jersey
  • Graduate of Houghton College (B.A.), Yale Divinity School (B.D.), and Divinity School of the University of Chicago
  • Lectured extensively at universities and Christian colleges throughout the United States and overseas
  • Served on numerous boards and associations, currently including the Karl Barth Society of North America, John Wesley Theological Institute, and the North American Academy of Ecumenists
  • Has served as editor, co-editor, and contributing editor to a number of publications and has contributed to various dictionaries and other publications
  • Published over 40 articles in periodicals and has edited or written 17 books, including Discovering an Evangelical Heritage, Theological Roots of Pentecostalism, and The Variety of American Evangelicalism

Dr. Melvin E. Dieter

  • Professor of Church History and Historical Theology (emeritus), Asbury Theological Seminary
  • Graduate of Muhlenberg College (B.A.), Lehigh University (Master’s in History), Temple’s Conwell School of Theology (S.T.M.), and Temple University (Ph.D. in Religion)
  • Served as Chinese language specialist during World War II
  • Served 19 years at United Wesleyan College, the last few years as president of the college
  • Served at Asbury Theological Seminary for 15 years as Professor of Church History, Provost, and Vice President
  • Awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Wesleyan Theological Society in 1996
  • Published Theological Education in the Evangelical Tradition, Christianity in Appalachia, and has edited volume four of the Holiness Classics Series by Beacon Hill Press
  • Co-editor of God is Enough devotional book, along with his wife, Hallie

Dr. Samuel T. Kamaleson

  • Evangelist, speaker, and author for over 40 years
  • Graduate of University of Madras, India (B.V.Sc.), Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div. & M.Th.), and Emory University (S.T.D.)
  • Served as pastor, district superintendent, and evangelist in India until 1974
  • Served with World Vision for 22 years in various capacities, including Vice President of Evangelism and Leadership Enhancement
  • Elected as one of “Forty Distinguished Methodist Evangelists” by the Foundation of Evangelism
  • Served on several boards of directors, including Asbury Theological Seminary, International Missionary Advance, and Hindustan Bible Institute (India)
  • Authored several books including The Transforming Power of Jesus

Dr. Charles D. Killian

  • Professor of Preaching and Drama, Asbury Theological Seminary
  • Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Lexington
  • Graduate of Marion College (B.A. in Religion), Asbury Theological Seminary (B.D.), and Indiana University (Ph.D.)
  • Taught two years at Houghton College and served in ministry roles at four churches
  • Written and produced several docudramas
  • Author of several published magazine articles in The Wesleyan Methodist, The Classical Bulletin, and Leadership
  • Has taught in the Czech Republic and in Tallinn, Estonia

Dr. Randy L. Maddox

  • Paul T. Walls Professor of Wesleyan Theology at Seattle Pacific University
  • Graduate of Northwest Nazarene College (B.A.), Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Emory University (Ph.D. in Theological Studies)
  • Ordained elder in the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church
  • Recognized authority on both John Wesley’s theology and the theological developments in later Methodism
  • Has written over 50 major articles, essays, forwards, and over 90 book reviews and notices
  • Author of Responsible Grace: John Wesley’s Practical Theology
  • Past president of the Wesleyan Theological Society, current co-chair of the Wesley Studies Group of the American Academy of Religion, General Editor of the Kingswood Books Imprint of Abingdon Press, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Wesley Works Editorial Project

Dr. James H. Pain

  • Dean of the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies, Drew University
  • Scholar, teacher, speaker, linguist, doctrinal historian, pastor, administrator and mentor
  • Graduate of Occidental College (B.A.), Drew University (B.D. and S.T.M.), and Univeristy of Oxford (D.Phil.)
  • Served at Drew University as Chaplain, Chair of the Religion Department, Convener of the Theological and Religious Sudies Area in the Graduate School, and was also appointed to the Henry and Annie M. Pfeiffer Professor of Religion
  • Teaches courses in orthodox theology, as well as in the early church fathers, including St. Patrick, Charles Wesley, and Chaucer

Mr. Stanley C. Pelkey

  • Assistant Professor of Music at Gordon College
  • Graduate of Asbury College in 1994 with a major in Music and minors in Bible and Philosophy, and Ph.D. candidate in Musicology at University of Rochester
  • Recipient of the Pew Evangelical Younger Scholars Graduate Program Fellowship
  • Research focuses on musical life and national identities in England and Scotland during the later eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries
  • Presented numerous papers at academic conferences in the United States and Great Britain and regularly performs recitals of English and German organ music
  • Published articles on the Wesleys, their keyboard music, and members of their musical circle and is preparing editions of Samuel Wesley’s violin concertos and several of his Latin motets for publication
  • Served as Music Director and Organist in congregations in Kentucky, New York, and Massachusetts

Dr. Priscilla Pope-Levison

  • Professor of Theology at Seattle Pacific University
  • Graduate of DePauw University (B.A.), Duke Divinity School (M.Div.), and University of St. Andrews in Scotland (Ph.D.)
  • Served six years as Assistant Professor of the Practice of Evangelism and four years as Assistant Professor of Contextual Theology in the Divinity School at Duke University, as well as College Chaplain at North Park College and Theological Seminary
  • Ordained elder of the United Methodist Church and serves as Director of the General Commission of Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns of the United Methodist Church
  • Wrote numerous journal articles, book chapters, dictionary entires, and book reviews
  • Authored and co-authored several books, including Jesus in Global Contexts and Soul Sisters: An Anthology of American Women Evangelists

Dr. Paul A. Rader

  • 15th President of Asbury College
  • Graduate of Asbury College (B.A.), Asbury Theological Seminary (B.D.), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Th.), and Fuller Theological Seminary (D.Miss.)
  • Served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Asbury College for 11 years prior to being appointed president
  • Charter member of the American Society of Missiology and a charter trustee of Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission in Seoul, Korea
  • Served with The Salvation Army for 38 years after completing The Salvation Army School for Officer Training in 1961
  • Served as Training Principal for The Salvation Army Training College in New York, Divisional Commander in eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, Territorial Commander of the Western Territory (USA), General and International Leader for five years, and South Korea for 22 years
  • Also served as Associate Pastor of the Seoul Union Church, as lecturer at the Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission, and Adjunct Professor at Seoul Theological Seminary
  • Received four honorary doctorate degrees and numerous awards and honors

Dr. Susie C. Stanley

  • Professor of Historical Theology at Messiah College
  • Graduate of Towson State University (B.A.) and Iliff School of Theology/University of Denver (M.A.R. & Ph.D. in American Religion and Culture)
  • Serves as President of the Wesleyan Theological Society, President of the American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature (Pacific Northwest Region), editor of Women in Ministry and Missions, Delegate to the Fifth World Conference on Faith and Order (Santiago de Compostela, Spain), and Consultant for “Good Morning America”
  • Served as Convener of four Wesleyan/Holiness Women Clergy Conferences
  • Published over 30 articles and book chapters, numerous book reviews, and two books, including Holy Boldness: Women Preachers’ Autobiographies and the Sanctified Self

Dr. W. William Ury

  • Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi
  • Regular speaker at conferences, retreats, revivals, and seminars for pastors and missionaries
  • Graduate of Asbury College (B.A.), Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Drew University (M.Phil. and Ph.D.)
  • Served as associate pastor in Chinese-American United Methodist Church in Chinatown, New York City
  • Serves with various boards and associations including OMS International, YMCA, Hiwassee College, John Wesley College, and the Asbury College Alumni Board
  • Serves as the seminary preacher on a weekly nationwide American Family Radio Network program entitled “The Hour of Holiness”
  • Author of a variety of articles and several workbooks and co-authored the book, In His Image, a book on scriptural holiness
