Students will need a valid passport and might need a short-term visitor visa (depending on their passport’s country of issue and the length of stay). To apply for a U.S. passport, students will need to fill out the form found on the U.S. Dept. of State website.
To apply for a French short-term visitor visa, each student needs to apply through a consular office in the U.S. months in advance of travel.
Entry into France for a short-term visitor visa requires that your passport be valid for at least three months longer than the expiry date of the visa. If your passport does not meet the Schengen requirements, you may be refused boarding by the airline at your point of origin or while transferring planes. For this reason, we recommend that your passport have at least six months’ validity remaining whenever you travel abroad.
