Business in Jamaica

Travel Course Dates: May 4-18, 2025

Led by Dr. Tolulope Bewaji

BU 393 Jamaica Business Travel Internship: Every student participant will be placed in a local business in Kingston, Jamaica, where they will complete two full 40-hour work weeks in a department of their choice (accounting, business management, administration, etc.). Participants should come ready to shadow, ask questions, and willing to do any small projects as assigned by their supervisors. Weekends will be reserved for tourism with a visits to local beaches as a relaxing way to recover from the work week.

Academic Credit

  • 3.0 Credit Hours: BU 393 Jamaica Business Travel Internship
  • Eligible for Cross-Cultural Engagement Requirement (CCE 150EX)

Application Process

Trip Dates:  May 4-18, 2025

To apply for the Business in Jamaica Travel Course, please follow the following application process:

  1. Fill out the Apply to an Off-Campus Program Form. Upon completion, you will be contacted by the Study Abroad Office.
  2. Fill out the Reference Form and select two persons to serve as references on your behalf. One should be an academic reference and the other should be someone who can speak to your character. An online reference form will be sent to each person. Please have them complete and submit the forms.
  3. The Online Application Form and the Reference Forms are due by November 1, 2024.
  4. FACULTY MEMBER will contact students selected to participate by November 15, 2024.
  5. The first deposit ($500) is due December 1, 2024 to secure your spot on this travel course.
