Travel Course Dates: December 28, 2024 – January 11, 2025

Underwater Cinematography: In this course, we will examine the world of underwater cinematography and filmmaking, the equipment, underwater skills, lighting techniques, storytelling aspects and camera control necessary to capture quality underwater imagery.
The class will be taught in Cozumel, Mexico with the help of Ocean Nomads Underwater Photography School. You will learn how to scuba dive the first week. Then, the next week will cover underwater technology and skill, post-production techniques, and underwater storytelling.

- Counts toward Cross-Cultural Engagement Requirement (CCE 150EX)
Application Process
Trip Dates: December 28, 2024 – January 11, 2025
To apply for the Underwater Cinematography Travel Course, please follow the following application process:
- Fill out the Apply to an Off-Campus Program Form. Upon completion, you will be contacted by the Study Abroad Office.
- Fill out the Reference Form and select two persons to serve as references on your behalf. One should be an academic reference and the other should be someone who can speak to your character. An online reference form will be sent to each person. Please have them complete and submit the forms.
- The Online Application Form and the Reference Forms are due by October 1, 2024.
- Dr. Hogencamp will contact students selected to participate by October 9, 2024.
- The first deposit ($500) is due October 15, 2024 to secure your spot on this travel course.
