BIO Melanie graduated from Asbury College (now University) in 1977 with a BA degree in French and History, Secondary Education. She did 30 hours of graduate work at Morehead State University, completing a 5th Year program in 1984. She taught French and History at Mt. Carmel High School for 13 years, then was high school librarian for 13 years. She came to work at Asbury College in 2004, beginning as a graduate program assistant in July 2005. As the certification officer for the university for both the undergraduate and the graduate candidates for certification, Melanie is responsible to keep up with state requirements for certification and rank change, and work with the Education Professional Standards Board to see that our candidates are ready to be certified teachers. She is also responsible for Praxis testing information and the federal Title II reports.
