MBA Admissions Requirements

The application process begins with submitting an application. Once you start an application you will have access to the Asbury Checklist which will help you keep track of the documents needed to have a complete application and start your M.A. journey! Application materials needed:

  1. Official Transcripts: Submit official transcript conferring bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and any graduate transcripts directly from the credit-granting institution to admissions@asbury.edu or by postal mail to: Asbury University, Attn: Admissions, One Macklem Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required for MBA applicants.
  2. Resume/CV: Submit your resume in your Application Portal
  3. References: Provide 3 references (academic, character, and professional) as part of the application process. A reference form will be emailed to each reference listed in your application. Please ask for your references to watch for an email from Asbury. References must be from non-family members.
  4. Peregrine Exam – All new MBA students are required to take the Inbound exam with Peregrine Academic Services. The comprehensive exam covers topics taught throughout the degree program, which are aligned to the topics required for accreditation. This exam simply assesses the baseline data the school needs for its analysis. There is no need to prepare. A link will be sent to your email to register for the exam.
  5. Transcripts from institutions outside of the U.S. must be sent to Asbury from WES.org after a course-by-course evaluation has been conducted. Please visit WES.org for instructions, as they vary by country (international students only).
  6. English Language Proficiency. All applicants whose native language is not English (with the exception of those who hold a degree from an accredited U.S. institution of higher education) must submit proof of proficiency in one of the following ways (international students only):
    • TOEFL score above 550 (paper based) or 213 (computer-based test) and a score of 4.5 on the Test of Written English (TWE)
    • IBT exam score of 80
    • Duolingo English Test score of 105

No GMAT is required for the MBA program, and the requirements are the same for each of the MBA concentrations: Management, Nonprofit Management or the Sport Management.

Additional Materials for International MBA Students:

  1. On-campus MBA applicants must submit a Certified Bank Statement. International students must provide financial evidence showing that they or a sponsor have sufficient funds to cover the cost of attendance for the program’s duration. The bank statement should be a document that meets the following criteria:
    • printed on the bank’s official letterhead with a bank representative’s signature that verifies the financial ability of the guarantor
    • state the financial institution’s name
    • indicate the account holder’s name
    • clearly show the account balance and currency
    • be dated within the past six months
  2. On-campus MBA applicants must submit a Statement of Financial Responsibility. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires that every international student verify the availability of funds to pay for educational and living expenses before an I-20 or DS-2019 form can be issued. The I-20 or DS-2019 is used to obtain a visa to enter the United States.
    • Make sure you have the signature of the applicant and guarantor with the understanding of the cost of education
    • Complete and upload this form to your portal.
  3. On-campus MBA applicants must submit a Passport. Upload the page that contains the passport number, your full name, date of birth, etc.
