Forensic Science Camp

Play detective and explore the tasks involved in modern crime scene investigation by reconstructing an accident just like the professionals. Taught by Asbury faculty, this camp offers five days of hands-on learning and mystery-solving while you gain skills and experience in the field of forensic science.

Cost:

The camp is $550 per person, and includes food, lodging, and all expenses.

What You Can Expect:

  • Evaluate an accident scene using attention to detail and deductive reasoning.
  • Collect and analyze prints of all kinds – fingerprints, shoe prints and tire prints.
  • Examine evidence collected using lab techniques, including physical characteristics of dirt samples and chemical aspects powder and blood samples
  • DNA analysis
  • Report findings in a mock court case before a jury of parents.

About Your Instructor:

Laura Walther

Laura Walther, a chemistry instructor at Asbury University since 2002, has always loved the investigative nature of forensic science, the tv shows that portray this need to understand, and especially the tools that chemistry brings to the trade. However, her greatest passion for science is the desire to share the wonder of discovery and joy of learning with her students.
