Asbury University hosted a Science Think Tank on March 17, bringing together alumni and friends to explore ways to improve Asbury’s Science & Health Department for the future and discussing the external science environment in relation to the University’s program. The meeting convened at Windsor Manor, Asbury’s new guesthouse generously provided by a donor.
Alumni presently working in the scientific field, including Joe Wyse ’82 and Mark Barrett ’77, spoke on the topics of “Science and Industry” as well as “Medicine and Service.” Following a lunch, the group arranged priorities and opportunities to draw upon alumni expertise and external resourcing.
President Dr. Sandra C. Gray, VP for Institutional Advancement Dr. Mark Troyer and Interim Provost Dr. Bonnie Banker spoke on the Science program’s internal environment from an administrative perspective, talking briefly about the ways “Ignited: The Campaign for Asbury University” advances Asbury’s mission.
