Asbury Premieres College Tour Episode on Campus

Asbury students were treated to the first public screening of its The College Tour episode, which can now be streamed online at asbury.edu/collegetour. To celebrate Asbury’s nationally-streamed television show episode, the university hosted a fun, in-chapel campus event which included complimentary popcorn and a live-streamed appearance of the show’s host, Alex Boylan, who interacted with Asbury President, Dr. Kevin Brown.

“I am thrilled for this opportunity to share Asbury with the world,” said Brown. “On this episode of The College Tour, our students and alumni truly captured the Asbury experience, from the personal academic attention, spiritual growth and development to our vibrant community. Because Asbury is now highlighted on The College Tour, even if someone can’t visit our campus, they can experience it for themselves virtually. The College Tour captured our community perfectly through the voices of our students and alumni.”

Boylan will be on Asbury’s campus on Wednesday, Nov. 3, including a lunch and learn event in the Miller Screening Room at noon. All Asbury students, faculty and staff are invited.

Colton Back, an Asbury graduate who has a brief segment in the episode, commented on the on-campus celebration, “I can’t think of a better location to share the College Tour to the Asbury campus,” he continued, “Chapel is a very special place to me and my faith, so being a part of this premiere is such a blessing.”

Another student involved in the production process elaborated on her excitement for the showing:

“It was an amazing experience to see Asbury’s episode premiere to the campus,” said Journalism major, Madison Anderson, “It was a privilege to help behind the scenes in the summer, and it’s even more exciting to see it all pulled together.”

The show — created by the award-winning team behind shows like Survivor and The Biggest Loser — traveled to Wilmore over the summer to film the segment, marking the first university in Kentucky to be featured. Hosted by Boylan, each episode of The College Tour tells the story of a university through the lens of its students, and Asbury’s unique flavor is on full display with students on camera sharing their Asbury stories. Each student driven segment gives an inside look at what it’s truly like being a student at Asbury.

The episode is currently streaming on multiple platforms and will be on Amazon Prime in early 2022. It’s also viewable on thecollegetour.com
