Asbury President to Lead Wesleyan Holiness Connection Network of College Presidents

Asbury President Dr. Kevin Brown and his wife, Maria, will serve with the WHC College Presidents Network for the Wesleyan Holiness Connection (WHC). The new initiative, of which Dr. Brown will serve as director, comprises of leaders from Wesleyan and Pan-Wesleyan Christian institutions of higher education and aims to build stronger relationships and create synergies between visionary minds at the forefront of faith-based academia.

“I am eager to contribute to an ecosystem of collaboration and support among my peers,” said Dr. Brown. “The opportunity to lead such a network is an honor and a commitment to strengthening our relationships and the collective impact of our institutions.”

With a track of impactful leadership, highlighted by the Asbury Outpouring, Dr. Brown’s history of fostering spiritual and academic growth positions him well to steer the network’s mission. Under his guidance, the network will advance through in-person and virtual meetings, fostering a safe and sacred collegial environment where presidents can engage, collaborate, exchange resources, and offer mutual support within their unique leadership roles.

WHC Executive Director Bishop John Mark Richardson stated, “I am grateful that Dr. Brown and his wife, Maria, accepted my invitation to lead this new WHC network for college presidents. I am incredibly excited about the leadership and care they will provide to college presidents and their spouses.”

Holding a diverse academic and professional portfolio, Dr. Brown possesses a Ph.D. in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Glasgow, an M.Litt. from the University of St. Andrews, and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis. His wife, Maria, holds a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. President Brown’s multidisciplinary expertise will drive a dynamic dialogue among college presidents in the WHC network. Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Brown is a devoted family man with three children. He is passionate about enriching family time through reading, fitness, and outdoor adventures.
