Intercultural New Student Orientation Schedule

2024 Schedule

Monday, August 19

1 - 1:30 p.m.Welcome and Registration
Corbitt Hall

We can't wait to greet you and your family and welcome you to campus!

1:30 - 4:30 p.m.Semester Check-in
Kinlaw Library Lobby

Stick around Corbitt Hall and we will walk you and your family over when it is your turn for the "Semester Check-In," where you will get your student ID, review your financial aid, confirm payment arrangements, talk to Health Services, and more! Once you complete the Semester Check-In, you will move into your residence hall and meet some of your Intercultural Life student leaders.

Note: Some students will move in first and then go to the “Semester Check-In.” We will let you know what group you are in when you arrive!

5 p.m.Welcome Dinner
Eatery (Johnson Dining Hall)
Enjoy a complimentary meal, meet other students and families and hear from University leaders, followed by a time of commissioning prayer.
6:30 p.m.Dessert Social
Rader Student Center
Connect with other new students, Intercultural Life student leaders and enjoy dessert.
7:45 p.m.What to expect this week
Rader Student Center
Juan Gonzalez, Coordinator of Intercultural Life, will share what to expect during INSO.
8 p.m.Floor meeting in your Residence Hall with you RA
9 p.m.Get settled and get a good night's rest!

Tuesday, August 20

Meet for departure at the Kinlaw Library Circle.
Health visit
Students who need to take care of medical requirements will be notified. After the Health Dept visit, students will be taken to Walmart.

How are you feeling about this transition? What are you most excited about? Most concerned about? What questions do you have?

Following this session, you are free to take a break, get settled in your room or whatever you need to do

Following lunch, pick up Welcome Weekend materials in the Student Center (name badge with QR code for the schedule, class t-shirt, campus mailbox, etc.), then follow the schedule beginning with the 2:30 p.m. President & Faculty Meet & Greet.
