Spring Welcome Weekend Schedule

9-11 a.m.Arrival and Welcome Weekend Check-In
Kinlaw Library Lobby
Pick up your orientation packet and schedule, then proceed with Semester Check-In
9 a.m. - NoonRequired Semester Check-In
Kinlaw Library Main Floor

Students will check in at each of the following stations. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

  • Information Technology—Get your Asbury Student ID! (bring a government-issued photo ID)
  • Student Accounts & Financial Aid—Review financial aid and payment arrangements and learn how to share access to your bill and other information with your parents or others
  • Health Services—Confirm all required medical information is completed
  • Campus Safety—Pick up your parking permit, if applicable
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.Campus Post Office/Eagle Outlet
Rader Student Center Lower Level
As you have time today or next week, go to the Eagle Outlet to receive your Campus Post Office (CPO) Box assignment (commuters too!) and browse the AU merchandise.
9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Residence Hall Move-In
Residence Halls
AFTER completing Semester Check-In, residential students go to your residence hall to pick up your room key and move in.
Noon – 1 p.m.Complimentary Lunch
Eatery (Dining Hall)
New students and their families are invited to lunch as guests of the University.
1 – 4 p.m.Registrar’s Office Available

Stop by if you have questions about your class schedule, transcripts, test scores or other academic matters.
1:30 – 3 p.m.Language Placement Exam

Students with prior experience in Spanish, French, or Latin are strongly encouraged to take the placement exam.
3:30 – 4:30 p.m.Optional Campus Tour
Meet at Admissions Welcome Center (Corbitt Hall)
5 – 6:30 p.m.Complimentary Dinner and President’s Welcome
Eatery (Dining Hall)
Students and guests will enjoy dinner with President Kevin J. Brown and other administrators in the Dining Hall. Following dinner, students say good-bye to their guests then meet for programming at 7 p.m.
7 – 8 p.m.Life at Asbury: Living In Community
Rader Student Center, Kenyon Room
An informal gathering with Residence Directors and the Commuter Coordinator. (Mandatory session for all new students, including commuters.)
8 – 9:30 p.m.Evening Social Time

Learn about important academic policies and procedures, the services available through the Center for Academic Excellence and Academic Accessibility Resources, and how to fulfill your Cross-Cultural Engagement requirement.
2:30 – 3 p.m.AU Technology Orientation with FYE Leaders

Bring your laptop and cell phone and learn how to register your devices and access the campus Wi-Fi, student portal, iAttended app, and Discovery learning management system.
