Research Thrives Here

My tentative plan at the moment is to go on to medical school in Georgia and become a doctor. Conducting research alongside Dr. Ruffner has been a great experience.”
Students get hands on experience in Mission Farm located at Asbury. Ewing '24 worked with Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Marvin Ruffner to revitalize woodlands invaded by honeysuckle through removing the honeysuckle and planting forest species to establish a native plant community.

The Shaw Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) is home to the Shaw School of Sciences, providing eleven laboratories dedicated to eDNA research, cell and molecular biochemistry, ecology and environmental science, physics, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, instrumentation, biology preparation, chemistry preparation, and collaborative innovation.

Biology and Chemistry Labs

Asbury University has long been a top choice for homeschool families and students of Great Books or Classical Education programs. Our lab programs are designed to provide practical lab experience for students who have completed or are currently studying chemistry and/or biology on a high-school level in a homeschool environment.

Kids College

Kids College at Asbury University is hosted by Asbury’s chapter of the Sigma Zeta Honor Society. Kids College brings science to life for elementary and middle school students as they participate in hands-on chemistry experiments, watch physics demonstrations, and get up-close views of plants and animals in the biology lab.
