Program Overview
In recent years, the need for additional analytical and technical skills in financial and risk analysis has grown significantly.
The technical nature of modern financial and economic analysis requires a student with a strong mathematical and computational background in addition to strong skills in business and economics. The marketplace is also demanding this new combination of skills. The continued spread of free-market economies increases the potential for financial mathematics graduates to have international impact in an environment that seeks those who have a worldview shaped by the classical liberal arts and complemented by cutting-edge financial analysis.
As an Actuarial Mathematics major you will receive a Christ-centered, student-focused education that will provide you with both the mathematical and business background needed to succeed in the industry.
You are prepared and eligible to take two of the Actuarial Exams (Exam FM – Financial Mathematics & Exam P – Probability), which allows you to directly enter the profession upon graduation. Asbury is certified by the Society of Actuaries as a Universities & Colleges with Actuarial Programs – Introductory Curriculum (UCAP-IC) Recognition Tier.
Your Actuarial Mathematics studies at Asbury University are unique from opportunities offered by other institutions. AU’s Foundations offers you the resources to think deeply and engage society, while relationships with professors, camaraderie with your peers, and numerous opportunities for direct experience give you a passion for professional and career success.
