Bachelor’s in Biology Degree Requirements

Course requirements are distributed among core biology concepts plus environmental biology, plant biology, cellular biology and human biology. Foundations general education curriculum supports critical thinking and communication skills, and elective courses can be tailored to concentrations and interests. Bachelor’s in biology requirements include:

  • 63 credits in core biology major courses
  • 49 credits in Foundations general education requirements
  • 12 credits in electives to complete the 124-credit degree requirement

Research and Field Work

Biology majors gain unique applied experience in environmental and life science, venturing to a variety of field locations as a complement to their laboratory experiments. The biology major allows students to participate in research initiatives with current professors and alumni at local and national institutions
