Finance Major Requirements

You may be wondering, what do finance majors learn? At Asbury, being a finance major is an exciting experience, with coursework and faculty mentorship preparing you for understanding and building financial health in all aspects of business and society.

In business core courses, supported by electives and project opportunities, you’ll learn about business development, economics, corporate finance, international finance, organizational management, marketing, risk management, accounting, investment strategies, and statistics and how to integrate your faith in the marketplace.

Requirements for the undergraduate finance degree program include:

  • 60 credits in core courses, including business and finance studies
  • 53 credits in Foundations general education requirements
  • 11 credits in elective coursework to complete minimum 124 credit hours for bachelor’s degree

As a finance major, you’ll gain a strong balance of theoretical knowledge and practical skills across diverse areas of the field. You’ll learn to analyze data-driven insights while considering the human side of finance, developing strategic approaches to client relationship management and financial decision-making.
