Keynote Presentation

Dr. Phil Tallon

Dr. Phil Tallon is an associate professor of theology at Houston Christian University, where he also serves as dean of the School of Christian Thought. He is the author of The Poetics of Evil and The Absolute Basics of the Christian Faith, among other books. He has also written over 40 articles and essays on theology and the arts. Dr. Tallon often writes about the problem of evil, the argument from beauty, theology, and film, and the work of C. S. Lewis. He’s on Instagram (@oldhundreth), where you can find evidence of his family life.

Student Scholars of Excellence

Student Scholars of Excellence submitted both a paper and poster to the SEARCH Symposium Student Showcase. Papers are read and ranked within the categories of humanities, sciences, and arts by Asbury University’s Liberal Arts Council. The overall winner receives a cash award of $1,000 and the runners-up from the two remaining categories receive $500.
