Merit Scholarships

High schools calculate GPAs differently, so when you apply to Asbury University your transcript and GPA will go through a recalculation process. We translate your school’s GPA to an Asbury 4-point scale to help you maximize financial aid. Merit scholarships are awarded each year based on your recalculated GPA.

GPAScholarship Amount
per Academic Year
4.0 + and Governor’s Scholar Program$15,000
3.70 – 3.99$13,000
3.40 – 3.69$11,000
3.39 and below$9,000

Qualified students will be invited to Scholarship Competition to compete for additional academic scholarships. This event is held in January and February prior to the year the you plan to enroll. If you attend and participate in the competition, but do not win one of the Hughes or Morrison scholarships, you will still receive a $1,000 scholarship to be added on top of your GPA scholarship award.

Additional Scholarships

Your GPA scholarship is just the first step. Asbury also offers additional scholarships for other academic achievement, church-matching, student involvement and certain majors.
